book review formatWho doesn’t know the classic story of Ebenezer Scrooge and his spectral Christmas Eve dreams? Renowned director Robert Zemeckis (Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Forrest Gump, Contact, Castaway, The Polar Express, Beowulf) has applied his signature stamp to this beloved tale, and will be sharing it with audiences on November 6, 2009–just in time for the holidays. This sumptuous hybrid Making of/Art of book will introduce readers to the world behind Zemeckis’s camera, revealing the secrets of performance-capture technology, and displaying its singular style in a deluxe, artistic format. Fans of Jim Carrey will delight in reading about his performance, not only as Mr. Bah Humbug himself, but also as the ghosts of Christmas past, present, AND future! This gorgeous book–containing gatefolds and a ribbon–is sure to be at the top of everyone’s Christmas list! With 156 pages fully illustrated, this hardcover book provides photos and scenes from the movie showing the locations in as great a splendor as the movie provides. Well-written and illustrated it brings the story of Scrooge to life. And along with the visual delight, you get written information about the movie and sets, and more. The concept art for this movie is created by production designer Doug Chiang and his group of artists at Image Movers Digital, a studio run by Robert Zemeckis and Disney specializing in performance capture and CGI. There are plenty of art on locations and cool architecture since Charles Dicken’s story was set in 1840s London. You’ll see sets like Big Ben clock tower, Scrooge’s English house, city streets and the other sets used in the animated film. There are also character designs, some miniatures, sculptures and 3D renderings. Not surprisingly, the 3D characters resemble their life voice actors, who are Jim Carrey (except for old Scrooge), Gary Oldman, Bob Hoskins, and Robin Wright Penn among others. Memory foam mattress topper If you are a 3D artist, enthusiast, or just love 3d movies, then you will really enjoy this book! It goes through the creative process of how sets and characters were created, as well as arriving at camera angle and set solutions throught practical means, though not getting deep into the the 3d and CG lingo that any reader wouldn’t understand. Plot: Charles Dickens’ timeless tale of an old miser who must face Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet-to-Come, as they help to bring kindness to his otherwise cold heart. The Ghosts remind him of the man he used to be, the hard truth of what the world is today, and what will happen if he does not strive to be a better man. Set around Christmas, the most joyous day of the year, Scrooge realizes the sharp contrast of his own personality. A Christmas Carol is a 2009 film written and directed by Robert Zemeckis. It is an adaptation of the Charles Dickens story of the same name and stars Jim Carrey in a multitude of roles, including Ebenezer Scrooge as a young, middle-aged, and old man, and the three ghosts who haunt Scrooge. The 3-D film was produced through the process of motion capture, a technique Zemeckis previously used in his films The Polar Express (2004) and Beowulf (2007). It received its world premiere in London, coinciding with the switching on of the annual Oxford Street and Regent Street Christmas lights, infant car seat covers which in 2009 had a Dickens theme. Charles John Huffam Dickens was an English novelist, generally considered the greatest of the Victorian period. Dickens enjoyed a wider popularity and fame than had any previous author during his lifetime, and he remains popular, having been responsible for some of English literature’s most iconic novels and characters. Jacob Marley is a fictional character who appears in Charles Dickens’ 1843 novella A Christmas Carol. book review for kids
Product Description

What do all these people have in common: the first man to die in the American Revolution, a onetime chief of the Crow Nation, the inventors of peanut butter and the portable X-ray machine, and the first person to make a wooden clock in this country? They were all great African Americans. For parents and teachers interested in fostering cultural awareness among children of all races, this book includes more than 70 hands-on activities, songs, and games that teach kids about the people, experiences, and events that shaped African American history. This expanded edition contains new material throughout, including additional information and biographies. Children will have fun designing an African mask, making a medallion like those worn by early abolitionists, playing the rhyming game “Juba,” inventing Brer Rabbit riddles, and creating a unity cup for Kwanzaa. Along the way they will learn about inspiring African American artists, inventors, and heroes like Harriet Tubman, Benjamin Banneker, Rosa Parks, Langston Hughes, and Louis Armstrong, to name a few.

Product DescriptionA recipe for happiness: four women, one medieval Italian castle, plenty of wisteria, and solitude as needed.

The women at the center of The Enchanted April are alike only in their dissatisfaction with their everyday lives. They find each other—and the castle of their dreams—through a classified ad in a London newspaper one rainy February afternoon. The ladies expect a pleasant holiday, but they don’t anticipate that the month they spend in Portofino will reintroduce them to their true natures and reacquaint them with joy. Now, if the same transformation can be worked on their husbands and lovers, the enchantment will be complete.

The Enchanted April was a best-seller in both England and the United States, where it was a Book-of-the-Month Club selection, and set off a craze for tourism to Portofino. More recently, the novel has been the inspiration for a major film and a Broadway play.

book review for kidshttp://www.cdbaby.com/cd/dannypagan

CDBaby is a sight that has my Children’s Album.

Sid is a seed who is quite at home, living in his little underground world. He has two living companions, a spider and a caterpillar, whom are making plans to become something great. Slowly his friends leave on their exciting journeys, leaving Sid by himself, longing for his own life changing event.
My name is Daniel Pagan and I posted my story because I feel that my story is special, engaging and unique. Children want to learn, to grow! When you are so small, you look toward big things and you dream about being in new places. I feel that my story inspires young readers to let their imaginations run wild. More importantly, my story will show young children that they are a masterpieces waiting to happen.
I am a special education teacher living in Kentucky. I also have a Bachelors degree in Art. I am a musician as well and I feel that writing songs has helped me to write my picture book stories. I plan on using Sid the Seed as a teaching tool to inspire kids to reach their full potential. Please enjoy, let me know where youre from and pass this video on!
